Our engineers use industry
standard computer aided development tools including SolidWorks(TM)
for mechanical engineering and OrCad(TM)
and Protel for electronics design.
All development work is done in our controlled
engineering lab areas. Customer designs are assigned individual
work areas through out the development process.
We use a multi-phased approach
to product development, starting with the development of detailed
requirements. Mock-ups, breadboards, and models are developed
as necessary, leading into prototypes and beta production. Throughout
the entire design process, our ISO/FDA design methodology insures
that the finished product will pass all functional and compliance
requirements.
We have recently added additional CAD/CAM to
our in-house machine shop for the development of prototype parts.
Our new multi-axis machines can shave weeks off the time required
to build and test a new design! Solidworks drawing to a finished
part in hours!

We have a development wet lab to assist in
the design and testing of our diagnostic instruments. We have
developed a number of wet and dry chemistry analyzers using
spectrophotometric, fluorescence and bioluminescent techniques.
Our wet lab facility is equipped to handle biological samples
safely.

Our optics lab includes numerous optical engineering tools
and components for the development and testing optical sensors.
The lab has a complete optical bench, fiber optic components,
power and wavelength test equipment, multi-wavelength lasers
and a variety of lens and filters.
